Thrace is a term for previous Ottoman provinces including N. Greece, Bulgaria and the extreme SE European tip of what is today Turkey and Şarcöy in Turkish denotes / attributes the name in textile weaving and possibly other products possibly coined from the seaside town Şarcöy on the Mamara Sea.

This example is a part of what was once a larger kilim made up of 3 or 4 joined long narrow strips of which this was part of a unit.

Either North Bulgaria or Serbia.
