HOT ! NOR Bed – Solid Oak

Description

The NOR Bed is a solid oak bed frame designed as part of the NOR collection. The design reflects the biomorphic influence present in modernist furniture of the 1930s.

Named for the Romanian word for “cloud,” NOR references the carved forms used throughout the collection. This version features the standard high footboard, creating a continuous architectural frame between headboard and footboard.

Materials & Construction

The headboard frame, footboard, side rails, legs, and carved elements are constructed from kiln-dried solid oak.

Flat interior panels of the headboard and footboard are produced from commercial-grade plywood to reduce wood movement and prevent splitting over time.

A solid oak center rail runs the length of the frame and is supported by three solid oak legs for additional structural stability.

The sleeping platform consists of sixteen removable solid mahogany slats, each 2 inches wide and spaced 2.9 inches apart. The platform system is rated to support up to 1,000 lbs of distributed weight.

The slats are removable, allowing compatibility with most adjustable split king and queen bed bases.

The headboard ships in two vertical sections to simplify delivery through stairwells, elevators, and narrow spaces. Side rails bolt directly into both the headboard and footboard for a rigid structural connection.

All visible wood surfaces are finished in Modern Oak multi-step lacquer by Akzo Nobel.

Crafted in Indonesia by furniture makers experienced in solid hardwood construction.
