Detailed information on Coral Branch Brooch

set in blackened sterling silver with 18K gold fungus

Shannon Nutt - NJ has known she was going to be an artist since she was in the third grade. Her love of creating found a home at the University of the Arts metals studio where she took her first intro to metals class and saw the unlimited potential jewelry represented. Her insatiable desire to always be learning was met with a need to create deeply personal objects of comfort and beauty. She immediately began working in the industry and perfecting her craft at Ten Thousand Things in New York City, where she continues to work. Shannon’s journey through a life punctuated with depression and anxiety has had a profound influence on the themes relative to her work. Her work strives to embody the beautiful melancholy of decay and celebrate the imperfections of daily life. Her deep connection with nature and the solace of hiking are evident in her forms both directly and indirectly. She has shown her work in exhibitions at ZuZu Gallery, Heidi Lowe Gallery and most recently at Diana Vincent. She has just recently begun working in her studio again after dedicating the past 8 years to raising her two young girls. Shannon lives and works on the banks of the Delaware River in Central New Jersey with her husband, two daughters and two crazy dogs.
