New old stock American Optical Skymaster Pilot Sport 1 vintage sunglasses. This frame is in superb condition and comes with the orignal case and covering as pictured. The frames date late 1960\'s or 70\'s. We love everything about this pair of vintage sunglasses. The metal is gold in colour and has a more square appearance compared to the typical aviator. A double bridge adds strength and support to the frame and features a demi brown acetate covering which also features on the temporal ends. We love the Skymaster lenses, they are made of glass, which is known for it\'s scratch resistant properties, and not only have 100% UV protection, they transition with UV light, turning into sunglasses in bright sunlight. When the lenses change colour they turn brown. Each lens is engraved with the American Optical Emblem. \"Skymaster* The sunglass that has stood the test of time. Half a Century has passed since 1938, when American Optical was challenged by the Army Air Corps to produce a new sunglass. One that would provide comfort, quality optics and protect pilots from blinding glare.
