Thiers Issard Damascus Steel Straight Razor 6/8\" Bone with a round point is hand-forged from 2 hardened carbon steels—XC130 and XC100. The layers are welded at a precise heat using state-of-the-art powder metallurgical Damasteel. Two types of high-carbon steel powders are rippled together, pressed, and sintered. With this method, you receive a very fine structure of the material and a way higher share of carbide than in traditionally made steel.

Thiers Issard was founded in 1884 by Pierre Thiers, a skillful blacksmith known for exceptional handheld blades. The family business continued through Pierre’s wife and sons well into the 20th century, and the handmade blades are still produced in central France today. Thiers Issard stands by its product, offering repair, resharpening, and renovation of its products. This, and all Thiers Issard blades, will certainly stand the test of time.

Please note: Bone is a living natural material, so it won\'t be 100% white, like ivory. It\'s likely to have coloration on the bone, such as the black spots you can see in the image, and often darker shading in parts of the bone. This is what makes it beautiful.
