Detailed information on Seattle Kraken Common Thread Green Night Hat 2025-26

Celebrate Seattle Kraken Green Night with this Common Thread Green Night Hat. Artist Jess Phoenix researched native species including Kincaid\'s Lupine, Northwest Raspberry, Golden Paintbrush, Wenatchee Mountain Checker-Mallow, and Jessica\'s Aster, reimagining them in a vibrant palette. Bright reds and pinks contrast against deep greens with teal accents, while intricate vines form the Kraken S logo and numbers. Lush repeating patterns weave elements from both the Kraken and Anchor throughout the design, transforming delicate botanicals into bold, dynamic artwork that honors Washington\'s natural heritage.

Artist: Jess Phoenix

About The Design: Artist Statement

For this project, I researched endangered and threatened flowers native to Washington and created my own interpretations of them — a departure from my usual imagined botanicals. The Kraken S features seven plants, including Kincaid\'s Lupine, Northwest Raspberry, and Golden Paintbrush for the eye. The Anchor highlights Wenatchee Mountain Checker-Mallow and Jessica\'s Aster. While these plants naturally appear in whites, soft purples, and fuchsia, I leaned into a more vibrant palette — contrasting bright reds and pinks against deep greens, with teal leaves tying everything together. The numbers continue the theme, with intricate vines forming each shape, and lush repeating patterns pulling elements from both logos throughout.
