Toothill furniture was founded by Reg Toothill in Newton Aycliffe after World War II. By the 1960\'s Toothill was focused on designing and producing contemporary furniture in the Danish style. As Toothill is a smaller producer, their work is rare and harder to find than that of other British makers. This has made Toothill furniture highly collectible and sought after. Toothill is responsible for producing some of the most memorable British furniture during the mid-20th Century, as you can see from this piece alone. This is mid-century modern lounge boasts beautiful lines and curves of the arm and is finished off a timeless plaid wool. The rubber webbing straps have been replaced, as well as the foam cores on the inside of the cushions. The wood is in near perfect condition, and the seat cushion does have a slight flaw in the fabric, which is shown in the photos. This is the \'\'ladies\" lounge chair and we are selling the larger one as well, which is shown next to the \"ladies\" chair in the last picture.
