Antique French Provincial oak dining table sourced from Provence, France, dating to the late 19th century. Originally constructed as a drop-leaf table, the hinged leaves were removed at some point in its history, leaving a distinctive fixed top with softly rounded ends. The resulting form retains the substantial construction of the original piece while offering a clean, uninterrupted surface and unique silhouette. Crafted from solid oak throughout, the table features a plank-built top, deep apron, and four turned baluster legs terminating in original iron casters. The warm, time-softened patina and surface wear reflect over a century of use and contribute to its authentic provincial character. The table has been structurally revised to ensure stability and professionally waxed, enriching the tone of the oak while preserving its historic surface. A versatile piece suitable for dining, work, or display, embodying the straightforward utility and enduring appeal of French country furniture.
