HerStory in Motion : A Design Created for Women’s History Month

Fashion has always been one of the most powerful ways we tell stories. Sometimes those stories are subtle. Sometimes they are bold. And sometimes, they are meant to honor something bigger than ourselves. For Women’s History Month, I designed and created a pair of custom sweatpants that celebrate the strength, creativity, and legacy of women.

The design begins with pink, a color long associated with honoring and uplifting women. From there, I incorporated purple and green, the signature colors of the HerStory 5K 2026 — a meaningful event dedicated to celebrating women’s stories, voices, and journeys. Each patch represents something layered and intentional. Like women’s histories themselves, the design is not one, dimensional… it is textured, expressive, and unapologetically vibrant.

Seeing this piece worn by my friend — poet and **WPGC 95.5 FM> midday Shenanigans presenter — made the moment even more special. She carries the energy of creativity, culture, and community in everything she does, making her the perfect embodiment of the spirit behind this design.

This piece is part of a larger philosophy I believe deeply in: Style/Fashion should tell stories. It should honor culture. It should celebrate people.

These sweatpants are not just a garment. They are a tribute.. to women who came before us, women who stand beside us, and the women who will continue to shape the future.

Because our stories deserve to be seen, celebrated, and worn with pride.
