HOT ! Yellow & Red Rosarita Pendant in Sterling Silver

This bright yellow striped rosarita cabochon and the tiny red triangle cab below it were cut by lapidarist Gary Wilson. Both are set in smooth sterling silver bezels on 2 layers of recycled sterling silver sheet. The pendant has been oxidized liver of sulphur & then sanded and polished to bring out the highlights of the silver. Purchase the pendant alone, or with an 18\" bright sterling silver rolo chain with lobster clasp closure. Keep in mind that you may need pliers to open the jump rings to thread a chain through.

What is Rosarita?

Rosarita is a by-product of gold smelting. Smelting gold is the process of extracting gold from an ore it is combined with. Essentially, when an ore that is gold-bearing gets heated to high temperatures, gold sinks down to the bottom and the non-metals solidify into boulders of red and orange and yellow. Red being Rosarita. Orange and Yellow are more rare, but stunning nonetheless.
