Grossé 1966 Germany Gold Plated Organic Freeform Pendant on Herringbone Box Chain Necklace featuring a herringbone box chain necklace with a spring ring clasp with a layered organic freeform pendant with a rope twist bail. This striking pendant which may be a stylised tree or plant design, measures 3.5cm high including bail and 4cm at its widest point and it weighs 23g including the chain. The chain has four sides and has a spring ring clasp. It is signed \'19\' above \'Grossé © (with a crown above the G)\' and beneath this \'66\' and then \'GERMANY\' below, all on the oval cartouche.
Grossé was founded in 1907 by Mr Heinrich Henkel and Mr Florentin Grossé, also referred to as Henkel and Grossé © and during the 1930\'s worked with design houses such as Lanvin and Schiaparelli in Paris as well as with Harrods in London and Saks in New York. Since 1955 Henkel & Grossé © worked together with Christian Dior and for fifty years held a license to produce and distribute Dior jewellery worldwide.
Henkel & Grossé © carried on producing their own jewellery lines, For example, the line Grossé Bijoux, which was expanded in the 1960s to include the collections Grossé © Sterling and Gold. In 2005 the family withdrew from the business and the firm became part of the Dior group.
