Inspired by one of the first collections I released, my Lily Dale series, this third iteration of \'The Medium\' features a disembodied, elegant hand emerging from a ruffled sleeve. 

 Lily Dale is the largest community of spiritualist mediums, located in Upstate NY on the edge of Lake Cassadaga. I first visited there in the summer of 2010 as a seeker, a trip that would cement my interest in Victorian Spiritualism, and how it has thrived in the shadows of modern society. Séances were popularized during the Victorian era, however spirit communication has existed for many hundreds of years prior, perhaps since the first humans. One method of spirit communication ( & perhaps the most visibly recognizable ) consisted of a group of people who encircled a table with a Medium present, in candle lit darkness, to communicate with the spirit world. Our need to be close to our beloved dead has never waned, with the role of the Medium always needing to be filled.
